Board of Directors
Jeff Plourde was a founding member of The Old Town Recreation Center and has served on the board since its creation. He previously served as the Board Chair and is currently the VP Finance. Jeff is a Regional Vice President for TD Bank, overseeing all commercial lending activities in Northern Maine. Jeff received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Maine in 1991 and a MBA from the University of Maine in 2002. Jeff lives in Old Town with his wife Heidi and their three sons, Keegan, Kaiden, and Kameron. When asked why Jeff supports The Old Town Recreation Center he said, "The City of Old Town is a great place to raise a family. We have great schools and a great community. The Rec plays an important role in creating this sense of community. My children are better prepared for life because of the programs the Rec offers. If the Rec were to go away tomorrow I think there would be a huge void in the community and lots of great kids and their families would be negatively impacted. My involvement at the Rec is centered around ensuring that this never happens.”
Paula Dickey served on the Organizing Committee for Old Town Recreation Center when it was created two years ago, and continues to serve on the Board of Directors today. Paula served as the organization’s Treasurer for the first year, and transitioned to Special Events in January 2016. Professionally, Paula has worked at Bangor Savings Bank for the past seventeen years, and currently in the Commercial Credit department. Paula received her BS in Child Development and Family Studies from the University of Maine in 1996, with a minor in Psychology. Paula lives in Old Town with her husband Kevin and their son Benjamin. When asked why Paula supports the Old Town Recreation Center, she said “I have been a part of the Rec family for the past six years because I strongly believe in their Mission and Vision, and the fact that it’s not just a Mission Statement, but a way of life. The Old Town Rec strives to provide an enriching and nurturing, yet structured environment for children, whether it’s in the After School Enrichment Program, Summer Camp, or any of the various other programs. As a parent of a child participating in the programs, I truly appreciate that. Old Town Rec encourages whole family participation and makes people feel like they are a part of something bigger, as soon as they walk in the door. And THAT is why I am involved.”
Todd Rand has been a part of the Old Town Recreation Center as a Board member since it was formed. He grew up in Old Town, frequently involved with Rec programs as a young boy when it was still a City of Old Town Department. As a teenager, Todd began working with the Rec as a counselor and remained a part of the staff in some capacity for the next 13 years. He is currently a 4th grade teacher at Old Town Elementary School. He lives in Old Town with his wife, Destiny, and two daughters, Brooklyn and McKenna.
Wanda Emerson Lincoln
Wanda (Emerson) Lincoln, a graduate of OTHS and UMaine Orono, is one of the newest members of the Board. Wanda recently retired after a long career in education: she was a Home Economics teacher in the Bangor School Department at Fifth Street Middle School; a typing, shorthand and keyboarding teacher in Old Town Adult Education; and retired from the University of Maine Cooperative Extension where she was first a Program Manager for a nutrition education program then a Director for the Senior Companion Program. Wanda and her husband, David, raised their two children in Old Town and realize what a special community it is. “I was drawn to the Old Town Rec because I felt I had some skills to offer. Having worked with state and federal programs, I feel I could support the great work that is being done by the staff and volunteers of the Old Town Rec to make sure it continues into the future.” Currently, Wanda works part time in her husband’s business, A Plus Motors, and is Meme to three beautiful granddaughters: Maggie and Annabelle, who live in Brewer, and Sophie who lives in South Portland. Wanda and David are also “parents” to their English Springer Spaniel “furbaby,” Tootsie, who is not the least be spoiled!!
